AFL Canada is a recognized Registered Amateur Athletics Association (RCAAA) meaning that Individuals or Corporations can make donations to the organization in order to assist in fulfilling AFL Canada goals through projects and programming.
AFL Canada will issue official donation receipts to donors for Tax Purposes.
There are various methods and streams for donating to AFL Canada, see below for more information:
Donation Streams:
Unconditional Donations:
For those who want to financially support AFL Canada.
Donated funds do not need to be directed toward a specific purpose. AFL Canada's Board of Directors is able to direct the funding to the area they see most necessary.
Conditional Donations:
For those who are looking to support a specific area of development, these streams include:
National Teams Donations:
- All funds received are directed toward the expenses related to AFL Canada's National teams - the Northwind and the Northern Lights.
- Both teams participate in tournaments yearly as well as conduct multiple regional and national camps each year.
- Expenses may include:
- Accommodation and flights for tournaments and camps.
- On-field playing kit for tournaments including jumpers, shorts and socks.
- Off-field kit for tournaments.
- Field rentals and other training camp costs.
- Other tournament costs (ie, videographer, etc).
- Professional Development fees.
Junior Program Donations:
- Junior programming is the major focus of AFL Canada and is seen as the major development and sustainability pathway for the organization moving forward.
- Junior Programming may include:
- Auskick Centres
- Kinderkick Centres
- Kangakick Centres
- School programming
- Junior leagues
- Donations will be put toward expenses such as:
- Equipment
- Playing kit
- Staffing
- Field rentals and insurance.
Provincial Grants Program
- AFL Canada dedicates a budget toward the Provincial Grants Program. You can donate toward and build that budget through this stream.
- This grants program is designed to help Leagues develop through various programs and projects.
- Each province has different programming goals and objectives, you can check in with that league or check their websites to see what those programs are.
- Donations must be accompanied by the League Program you are looking to donate to.
How to Donate:
Donating by Cheque:
- Cheques will need to be made out to Australian Football League Canada and mailed to:
- 819-207 Bell St North, Ottawa, Ontario. K1R0B9
- The cheque will need to be accompanied by the following information (either included in the package or by email to donate@aflcanada.com):
- Donors full name.
- Donors full address.
- The donation stream for which the funds are intended.
Donating by E-Transfer:
- Donations can be sent via e-transfer to donate@aflcanada.com
- The E Transfer will need to be accompanied by the following information (either included in the transfer notes or by a separate email to donate@aflcanada.com):
- Donors full name.
- Donors full address.
- The donation stream for which the funds are intended.
Donating by Credit Card:
- Donations can be made via credit card through the AFL Canada Online Shop
- Donors will need to include in the notes of the purchase the intended program they want their donation to go towards
- Donors will receive a receipt from the online shop, as well as an official donation receipt from AFL Canada.
