More than 3000 children in Delta, British Columbia, will be introduced to Australian football through January as the North Delta Australian Football League brings the sport to the local schools.
Over the past 17 years, Mike McFarlane and the league have introduced thousands of local schoolchildren to the basics skills of Australian football.
"We offer two options to schools," Mike said.
"We offer a free one-day clinic, which works well as a taster, or we offer a paid four-day clinic."
In 2018, the team brought Australian football to 12 schools, teaching children from Grades 3 to 7 kicking, bouncing and handballing.
"The kids love it as it is not the norm and everyone starts out on even footing athlete or non-athlete," Mike said.
The 16th season of the North Delta Australian Football League will kick off in March with player split into teams to play full games.
