Darren Roffey has produced his most consistant year of football to win the 2010 Ottawa Swans Spurrell Medal. The award given to the teams Best and Fairest player.
2010 Swans Best and FairestAfter two years as runner-up to Luke Walsh, Roffey finally turned the table and took home the award with a total of 69 votes. Roffey also won the Swans Most Consistant Player award.
Swans ruckman Ryan Gregory became the first Canadian to finish in the top two, taking out he Runner Up award behind Roffey, a fantastic effort for Gregory after 3 years with the Swans.
The Swans Best Canadian Award went to 3rd year player Chris Peck after a solid year in defense. Peck also shared the Swans Most Improved Award with rookie Nic Ryan.
Jay Goldhawk won the Swans Rookie of the Year award and also became a dual awards winner when he was given the Keane Coaches Award.
Retired Swans vetran Corey Bowen recieved the Swans Goal Kicking Award and Life membership with the club, his wife, Tammy also recieved life membership for her tireless work in making sure the boys got onto the track week in week out.
