As an incorporated not for profit, AFL Canada governs itself in accordance with its by-laws.
At the 2016 Annual General Meeting, the members voted to streamline the by-laws to bring them in line with those of other National Sports Organizations and recent changes to the Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (Canada) as well as to more accurately reflect how AFL Canada is conducting its business.
The by-laws set out how AFL Canada operates.
It covers, for example, the following topics:
- Meetings of Members
- Finance and Management.
Many of the topics above are supplemented by AFL Canada's policies and guidelines.
