In 2015 the Netball Wellington Centre will again offer the opportunity for players from within the Wellington region to trial for selection in a NZ National Champs representative team (previously known as NPC or Lion Foundation National Champs).

In order to name a strong team for the NZ National Champs we seek a large pool of talented players to select from. Trials provide a great experience for keep players - we strongly encourage all to put your name forward and give it your best shot.

Please be aware that due to the fact that Nationals will be hosted in Wellington this year, a number of Centres within the Wellington region may be entering their own team.  Players are asked to give priority to trial for their affiliated netball centre or apply for dispensation before trialing elsewhere.

Trial eligibility:
Players need to be playing for an affiliated school or club team within the Netball Wellington Centre winter competition.
In accordance with Netball NZ rules, no player is permitted to take part in two consecutive week on week National Domestic events. For the avoidance of doubt, no player can play in the NZ National Champs tournament and the NZSS Championship.  Please be mindful of this if considering trialing.
Players from outside Netball Wellington Centre are able to trial if their own netball centre is unable to field their own team. Players must first trial for their affiliated Centre but can then gain dispensation to trial elsewhere. If affiliated to an outside centre trialists will need to advise their own netball centre that they are trialing to allow the centre to budget to cover your individual costs such as accommodation, meals, recovery food, rental cars, training venue hire, tournament entry fee if you make the team.

A team of up to 12 players will be named and a wider training squad may also be named at the discretion of the Lead Coach based on available talent.

Players may self-nominate or coaches/sports coordinators/parents may nominate on behalf of the player with their consent.
If nominating on behalf of someone else, please advise player so they know to attend trials.

Trials are held at the ASB Sports Centre, 72 Kemp Street, Kilbirnie in Wellington on the following two dates:
* Tuesday 21st July 2015 from 7.00pm-9.00pm
* Tuesday 28th July 2015 from 7.00pm-9.00pm

Given the limited number of trials we ask trialists to please make every effort to make yourself available to attend both trials in order to allow Selectors the best opportunity to observe you.

Rep Fees:
Individual players are required to contribute $350 as a travelling team member towards the costs mentioned above and a reduced rate of $100 if named as a wider training squad member.
Members will receive a rep training tee shirt and team photo as part of their fees.  As per NWC policy, any players who have already been selected for Netball Wellington Centre representative teams in 2015 (U15/U17/U19) will have their fees capped at $500 therefore only pay the difference.  Please note, this cap does not apply to representatives selected in U23 reps as this team is organised under the Netball Central Zone.

Inability to attend all trial dates:
While we strongly recommend that trialists make themselves available to attend ALL trials, due consideration may be granted to those who indicate their unavailability upon submission of their representative trial nomination form and provide a valid reason for their absence. Please therefore be sure to incidate any absences clearly so as not to unfairly disadvantage yourself.
Trialists who are unfortunately unable to attend either trial date must submit a dispensation request in writing outlining valid reasons why and send to the Netball Wellington Centre General Manager - Sue Geale via email to gm@netballwellington.co.nz.

Before trialing, please make yourself aware of the following information including team training and tournament commitments. All successful trialists must be available to attend.
