Teenage Girls Physical Activity & Wellbeing Project - Monday 30 November

Are you interested in the health and wellbeing of young women aged 12 - 20 in Wellington?

We know that physical activity and sport play a key role in the health and wellbeing of young people. We also know that NZ girls are dropping out of sport and other physical activities more than boys and at a younger age.

Wellington City Council in partnership with the Boys and Girls Institute, are delivering a KiwiSport funded project with a focus on improving opportunities and engaging more young women in physical activity and sport.

This project will also take a holistic view of young women's wellbeing and incorporate nutrition, confidence, leadership, health and other components that will encourage young women to flourish.

You are invited to attend our information session to learn more about this exciting project. We will explain how you and your organisation/group can be involved in improving health and wellbeing outcomes for young women in Wellington and increasing levels of participation in physical activity and sport.

Please feel free to share this with friends and colleagues who may also have an interest in this project.

Light refreshments provided.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
