Important Dates for 2018 Club Netball Competition

 Saturday 28th April   Premier, Premier Reserve & Senior competition starts
    Saturday 2 June   QUEENS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND – NO GAMES
 Saturday 16 June   End of Round 1 
    Saturday 23 June   Start of Round 2 (Championship Round)
 Saturday 14 July    NO GAMES (due to Basketball Tournament at ASB Sports Centre)
 Saturday 11 August   End of Championship Round
 Saturday 18 August   QUARTER FINALS
 Saturday 25 August   SEMI FINALS
 Saturday 1 September   FINALS DAY (Prizegiving held immediately following each round)
 
Note:  There will be no competition games on:
o Saturday 21 April 2018
o Saturday 2 June 2018 (Queen’s Birthday Weekend)
o Saturday 14 July 2018 (Basketball Tournament at ASB Sports Centre - no courts available)
 
Premier and Premier Reserve Grades
The Premier Competition (Premier and Premier Reserve grades) is a closed competition. Only teams who have gained entry from the previous season are eligible to play in the Premier competition.  During the season, the automatic promotion/relegation at the end of each round allows movement between the grades.  All Premier and Premier Reserve Grades will consist of 8 teams.

At the start of the season, each club and school is limited to a maximum of two teams per grade.  This restriction does not apply during the season after automatic promotion/relegation. Team positions will be readjusted at the beginning of the next season to comply with the two teams per section policy.
 
Senior grades (not open to schools)
The Senior competition has open grades (i.e. each club can enter teams at an appropriate level). Teams placings within the grades will be based on the previous seasons final rankings but Netball Wellington Centre may move teams up or down depending on a team’s player composition and advice from the club.  
As in previous years Senior 5-7 will be made up of 8 teams where possible but may be reduced to 6 or 7 teams if necessary.

 Saturday 16 June   End of Collegiate Round 1
 Saturday 23 June   Start of Round 2 (Championship Round) 
 Saturday 14 & 21  July School Holidays - NO COLLEGIATE GRADE GAMES
 Saturday 4 August End of Collegiate Championship Round
 Saturday 11 August QUARTER FINALS for Collegiate Competition
 Saturday 18 August SEMI FINALS for Collegiate Competition
 Saturday 25 August FINALS for Collegiate Competition (Prizegiving held immediately following each round)
 
Note:  There will be no competition games on:

Collegiate grades (open to schools only)
All college teams not in the Premier or Premier Reserve Competition play in the collegiate grades according to their ability level.  In the event that results show a team is clearly in the wrong grade, Netball Wellington Centre may exercise discretion to move a team further than the automatic promotion/relegation would allow.
 
The Grades for 2018 will be:
Collegiate 1, 2 & 3 - Open Grade competitive teams of any age/school Year level. Played at ASB Sports Centre Collegiate 4 & 5 - Open Grade social teams of any age/School Year level. Played at Hataitai Netball Courts.
Junior Collegiate (JColl) 1 and 2 - Junior Grade Open only to Year 9 & 10 teams. Played at Hataitai Netball Courts
