Mental Skills coaching course - Tuesday 27 October

A wise man by the name of Henry Ford once said "If you think you can, you can.  If you think you can't, you won't".

The power of the mind and positive thinking is undeniable which is why Mental skills are so vital in any sport's environment - netball can be summed up as 20% physical and 80% mental.

If you're a coach who's keen to upskill and expand your netball know-how here's your chance to make the most of your off-season for your own personal development.  Why not attend some coaching courses aimed at teaching you the best techniques, sharing ideas and supplying you with the right knowledge to be the best coach you can be?  Course content has been compiled by experts from Netball New Zealand and even offer the chance to gain recognised accreditation for your efforts.

Our next course on offer is Mental Skills which provides attendees an understanding of basic mental skills and identifying ways of applying principles to benefit player performance and enjoyment.  Focus is on four basic mental skills - Goal Setting, Imagery, Self-Talk and Relaxation with an aim to facilitate improved self-confidence & performance.

We welcome you to attend this handy learning opportunity suitable for coaches who have already completed the Player Centred Coaching course and are keen to build on the basics - let us help you add more tricks to your coaching toolkit.

Suitable for all levels – those who are first-timers and those with plenty of years experience seeking fresh ideas.

This course if one of the compulsory modules that contribute towards achieving the Performance Coach Award (PCA) which is the second level along the Netball NZ Coach Accreditation Pathway following on from the Community Coach Award (CCA).  There is however no requirement to complete the CCA before attending this module as coaches are free to pick and choose modules of interest once Player Centred Coaching has been completed.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
