Junior Netball Academy Term 1 about to start - registrations still open

Come and join in Junior Netball Academy in Term 1 for 2012 with TWO venues on the go throughout Wellington - Karori on Tuesdays, and Kilbirnie on Thursdays (NB: Johnsonville venue canneld for Term 1 due to insufficient registrations)! The first session of Term 1 Junior Academy will be held in the week beginning Monday 20th February 2012. Each session hosts a maximum of 16 participants each and there are 2 skill-based groups on offer each day - one for ELEMENTARY (from beginner level up to 3 years experience playing netball) and the other for ADVANCED (for those with 3+ years experience playing netball and showing competent level of skill). Be sure to get in touch early to register your interest!

Give our Junior Netball Academy a go in 2012!

The Junior Netball Academy is designed with the aim to assist players to work on the fundamental skills of netball and improve their standard of play throughout the year, while still focusing on learning through fun and team building! Each session is fast-paced, interesting and fun and packs in as many skills as possible into the 75 minute session. Players are taught the importance of warm ups and warm downs, and cover movement skills and fitness, ball skills, shooting, attacking and defending. Those who are attending the Academy for the first time receive encouragement while picking up new skills whereas those that are returning to the Academy and are at a competent skill level are sure to be challenged further and build on their prior skills. Wherever possible if numbers allow, a modified game will be played at the end of the session giving the participants the chance to get some hands on practice of the skills they have learnt during their session.

Two Groups determined by skill level ________________________________________

ELEMENTARY sessions are open to all participants who are keen to give a new sport a go and those who have just started playing netball in the past few years and are keen to gain a better grasp of the basic key netball skills and gain more confidence. Sessions begin at 4.00pm and go for 75 minutes, ending at 5.15pm each day.

ADVANCED sessions are open to all participants who have played netball for more than 3 years and have a good grasp of the basic key netball skills and wish to push themselves further to perfect the skills they already have and expand to use them at a higher skill level. Participants should have a good grasp of netball rules and consider themselves at a competent skill level. Sessions begin at 5.15pm and go for 75 minutes, ending at 5.15pm each day.

If uncertain about which group you would like to register under, not to worry, our Academy Coach(es) shall use the first session to observe and informally assess each participant's capabilities and make every effort to place participants into an appropriate group for the skill level. How to Register _________________________________________________________

You will find a registration for Term 1 Junior Academy attached at the bottom of this page. Decide which venue or day best suits you, pick a group to attend (ELEMENTARY or ADVANCED) and select whether you would like to take advantage of our discount rates to pre-enrol for 1, 2, 3 or 4 terms this year! Please fill out and return the registration form with appropriate payment as soon as able.

Post to PO Box 14845, Kilbirnie, Wellington 6241 along with appropriate payment.

Once registration has been received by our office you shall receive an email to confirm you have successfully been enrolled.
