Silver Ferns Coach - Netball NZ

The Silver Ferns Coach will be required to develop, implement and lead a world class programme that prepares the Silver Ferns netball team for consistent international success. 

The Coach will lead the Team on and off the court and will continue to enhance and protect the Silver Fern values and culture.  

Major areas of responsibility will include winning pinnacle events, Silver Ferns squad selection, improving player and team performance, developing and preparing all players in the Silver Ferns squad, and campaign preparation and planning.  Additional responsibilities include building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders including other National and Franchise Coaches, media and key sponsors.   Of importance, The Silver Ferns Coach is expected to provide high performance leadership and influence through actively contributing to the NNZ High Performance team and the Zone High Performance programmes.  The Silver Ferns Coach will be expected to be based in the NNZ office in Auckland on a regular basis. 

To secure this position, you’ll have previously coached at an international level and/or ANZ Championship level, be tactically astute, an expert at the technical aspects of the game and with an extensive knowledge of netball and sport in general.  You’ll have a track record of successful team selection and squad management as well as previous experience in managing and enhancing player performances in international competition, training and preparation.  Additionally, you’ll have managed and developed player performance in training, have excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and demonstrate experience in communicating openly and appropriately with players to ensure expectations are being met by both parties.   Experience in campaign planning is another key skill you must possess.
