Open Mixed - Game Two
After a fitting Anzac tribute, New Zealand burst out of the blocks but it was Australia to open the scoring. Despite failing to get the ball down on the last, Ben Moylan still managed to get through from half after the slow roll ball and found partner in crime, Tony Eltakchi with some open space.
Mohi Aupori hit back for the Kiwis shortly after with Troy Malcolm making a defensive error on the line.
Malcolm quickly made up for the lapse scoring after a magical flick pass from Scott Buckley.
Christian Frost also performed a piece of individual brilliance slicing through after subbing with a simpler show and go.
Mohi Aupori continued his good form from the first game with a wonderful step to score his second touchdown in quick succession.
Steve Wall showed his tremendous skill and knack for the sport nurtured over many years to go through from half and set-up Peter Vis.
Jamie Chan did a quick dump and split and showed too much pace to score in the corner and gain a 4-3 half time lead for the Australians.
Australia scored first in the second half with Zoe Dacey-Aiken holding onto another great ball from Ben Moylan.
New Zealand evened up the score with Stacey Winterburn crossing in the corner and Jason Puddles going straight through the middle to make it 5-5.
Troy Malcolm scored in the corner to regain the lead but it was shortly lived with a long ball from Josh Leota finding Ashlynn Enosa.
Sarah Spacie scored on the wing after bumbling an earlier difficult chance and Ben Moylan crossed again for some breathing space.
Ashlynn Enosa scored her second of the day but Australia were able to hold on for victory in the game and the series after the star of the show, Ben Moylan put Nikki Etheridge in for a touchdown.
