Vision
Our vision is to increase the participation of females in all aspects of the game of
Australian Rules Football in SA.
Mission
To promote, encourage and lead the growth of the game of Australian Football in
South Australia, so that females not only participate in the game but are role models
in the community
SAWFL Sub-Committee
The SAWFL manages the most established female football program in South Australia. It currently governs a two-division Open Women's competition and an Under 18 Girls competition. The SANFL took over the management of the SAWFL's Under 15 Girls competition in late 2015 as part of their new junior football structure.
In late 2015, the SAWFL clubs voted to dissolve the current SAWFL Board and move the League under the governance of the Channel 9 Adelaide Football League (Ch9AFL, aka South Australian Amateur Football League) Board and Staff. A SAWFL Sub-Committee exists, which sits underneath the Ch9AFL Board and is a volunteer committee that consists of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and general committee members.

Sub-Committee Responsibilities
The Board’s primary responsibility is one of trusteeship on behalf of its members and stakeholders, ensuring that the SAWFL remains viable and effective in the present and for the future. The Board is ultimately responsible for all organisational matters and has a number of key roles including strategic planning, member/stakeholder involvement, organisational performance, reporting, policy formulation, legal compliance, management of financial resources and risk management. As a result of the partnership between the SAWFL and the Channel 9 Adelaide Football League (CH9AFL), the day-to-day administration of the League is performed by staff members at the CH9AFL.
Nominate for the Board
Being a Sub-Committee member will provide you with opportunities for personal and professional development. We strongly encourage nominations from persons with previous Board and Committee experience and those wishing to play an active role in the development of the League and its programs.
Further information on the SAWFL Sub-Committee can be found here.
