Stars may make Grand Final
Western Stars will take on Stacks Goudkamp Bears this afternoon at 3pm after defeating Sydney Uni Flames in the second semi-final last night. Stars ran away early in the game after clocking up the scoreboard to a 14-2 lead in the first quarter. Flames seemed to find their rhythm in the second quarter only allowing the Stars to gain another 2 points on them going into halftime. Coming back after the break the Flames got a bit fiery and started fighting hard to catch up, however the Stars were too strong ending the game 56-35.
Amber Merritt once again was un-stoppable with a massive top-score 33 points for the Stars against Flames top-scorer Sarah Stewart with 13.
Stars will now take on the Bears in the Preliminary Final to compete for the second spot in the Grand Final tomorrow while the Flames progress straight through to the Bronze Medal match.
