FINALS Weekend at North Sydney

The 2011 Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League finals are set to take place at the Northern Suburbs Basketball Centre in Sydney this weekend, with Semi-Finals beginning on Friday night before the season concludes with the Grand Final on Sunday.

After the conclusion of the four round regular season, finalised at Sydney University last month, this weekend will see the top four remaining teams battle to be crowned 2011 champion.

The VIC Dandenong Rangers remained undefeated through the first three rounds of the season, but after suffering their first loss in Round Four to the Sydney University Flames, the title is still well and truly up for grabs.

The To Be Active Western Stars will be hoping someone else can knock off the Rangers because for four straight rounds, they were able to overcome all but the Rangers, and hang on to their second place on the ladder.

The final places in the 2011 regular season saw the VIC Dandenong Rangers finish first with a record of 15-1, the To Be Active Western Stars (12-4), Sydney University Flames (6-10), Stacks Goudkamp Bears (6-10) and the Minecraft Comets (1-15).
