After the first two rounds of the WNWBL the Sydney Uni Wheelchair Flames are leading with a 6-1 win-loss record, the Perth Western Stars are close behind on 5-2. The Rangers are in third with 2-5 and the Goudkamp Gladiators are fourth with a 1-6 record.

The Gladiators and Western Stars tip off proceedings on Friday night but the highlight of the round will be the top-of-the-table clash between the Flames and Western Stars on Saturday afternoon at 3.00pm AEST.

The Western Stars remain the only team to have beaten the Flames this season, with a 60-44 triumph in Round 1. Glider Amber Merritt was the standout for Perth in that match up; she led the Western Stars with a monster double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds.

All four teams have a standout leading scorer but it is the Western Stars and Flames who have more points contributors across the floor and are using that extra firepower to lead the league from atop the ladder.

Glider Kylie Gauci is one of the leading players in the competition averaging nearly 20 points per game but the Goudkamp Gladiators need more from their other players if they want to get their second win this weekend.

Merritt is leading the way for the Western Stars with 22.6 points per game but is well supported by fellow Glider Cobi Crispin who is putting up 15.7 points per game. For the Flames Sarah Stewart is their top scorer with 20 points per game but Sydney Uni has four players averaging in double figures.

Leanne Del Toso is the Dandenong Rangers top scorer, with support from Gliders teammate Kathleen O’Kelly-Kennedy the Rangers need some more scoring from their role players if they hope to push for second place on the ladder.
