WNWBL: Flames lead the way after Round 2
The Flames are atop the ladder with a 6-1 win-loss record ahead of the Western Stars on 5-2.
The Victorian Dandenong Rangers are in third with 2-5 and the Goudkamp Gladiators recorded their first win of the season but remain in fourth place with a 1-6 record.
Hosting Round 2 at the Sydney Uni Sports and Aquatic Centre the Flames opened proceedings on Friday afternoon with an emphatic 88-36 win over the Gladiators.
In the top-of-the-table clash the Western Stars were defeated by Sydney Uni 54-41. Sarah Stewart led the Flames with 17 points and nine rebounds, supported by fellow Glider Liesl Tesch who had a 15 point, 15 rebound double-double.
