Matt Parsons appointed Hawks MSBL Head Coach
Perry Lakes Hawks has appointed former Cougars 2016 Championship coach Matt Parsons to take on the role of Head Coach of our Men’s SBL team.
Matt coached the Cougars for two seasons – 2015 & 2016, culminating in the 2016 Championship. He was also named The John Gardiner Coach of the Year in 2015 & 2016 and is currently the 2017 Under 20 Men’s State coach.
Matt is a former Swan City Mustangs WABL & SBL player and also spent time playing in SEABL with the Bendigo Braves and was part of their Championship team in 2005.
“It is a privilege to be part of the Perry Lakes Hawks and to coach at a Club that has a rich history in the State Basketball League. I look forward to working with this talented squad.”
Matt takes over the reins from Charles Nix who has led the program since May 2013. The Club wishes to thank Charles for his contribution to our Club and wish him and his family the very best in the future.
We look forward to the next chapter for our Men’s team and build on our 2016 results.
