Nat Burton heads to the Rio Olympics

Last week we farewelled Nat Burton as she headed to Rio as part of the Opals team for Rio 2016.

Nat came through our Juniors playing for the Scarborough Sharks Junior Basketball Club, progressing through the WABL ranks before being selected to the Lady Hawks team, making her debut in 2006 and has played 93 games for the Lady Hawks to date.

Nat attended college in West Virginia for 4 years and upon her return was selected to play in the WNBL for the West Coast Waves (2012-2014) , followed by Melbourne Boomers  (2014-2015) and then returned West to join the new Perth Lynx (2015 to present).

During this time Nat was also a member of the Opals squad and won a bronze medal in 2014 FIBA Worlds and Gold Medals in 2013 & 2015  FIBA Oceanic Championships .

Below is the program for the Women's basketball where you can follow Nat & the Opals progress.

We wish Nat all the very best in her and the Opals pursuit for a medal at Rio 2016. We will be watching and cheering her and the team along on the ‘sidelines’.
