Hawks Jess Clayton named Co-Captain State 20s
Up and coming Hawks SBL guard Jess Clayton was today appointed Co-captain of Western Australia’s Under 20 Women’s State team. This honour is well deserved, as Jess has been working particularly hard over the summer, with both State team duties as well as being part of the West Coast Waves Development Squad.
Jess missed out on her Under 16 State team but did not give up on her dream. She kept working hard on her game as well as her fitness levels. Her breakthrough came at the Under 18 level, when she was selected for the Western Australian Metro U18 team for the National Championships here in Perth in 2012. Jess also represented WA at the Under 20 Nationals last year in Tasmania. Her appointment is just reward for the hard work and dedication Jess has shown during her career.
The Under 20 Australian National Championships will be held at the Ray Owen Basketball Stadium in Kalamunda from February 16 till February 22, 2014. Follow the action on the Nationals Website at the following link: http://www.basketball.net.au/index.php?id=969
Jetani Hunter will also be representing the Hawks in the Men's team and Perry Lakes Hawks Basketball Club congratulates Jess and Jetani, and wish them all the best for the upcoming championships.
Perry Lakes Hawks members are encouraged to come along and support Jess and Jet and their teams during the Championships.
