Our U 11 and U 13 teams competed in the weekend's State Champs and we had one of our teams' take out the State Champs title for their age Group.

Our U 13 girls beat Rockingham 34-30 to take out the U 13 W Championship Division. The strength of this age group was shown by our U 13 (2) team also playing off in the Grand Final, missing out by 1 point to Wanneroo. It was great to see some new faces competing in these teams and getting the feel of the step up from Junior Competition to WABL standard.

Our U 13 M (1) second division team met our U 13 M(2) team in the semis. The 'older' boys beat the younger (M12 s) team to move to the Grand Final, but  came out short  30-34 to Rockingham. 

For the U 11s, this was their first 'real' taste of WABL and the pace and skills required to make that step from their junior club team to WABL. All 4 teams played well throughout the weekend, with the   M 11 championship division team playing off against a highly skilled Willetton team coached by   Alan Black and Matt Nielsen, in the semis! Although the boys gave it their best, they fell short and Willetton advanced to the Grand Final, taking out the Championship for this age group and division.

Hawks congratulate all players and thank all Coaches and Managers for their time and committment over the past 6 weeks, in preparing these teams for playing in week 1 of the State Champs.

We look forward to seeing all players back again in mid February to tryout for our Hawks WABL 2014 teams.
