Hawks Men’s Player Profile

Age: 19

Nickname: Jacko

Work/Study: Studying engineering and physics at UWA

Why basketball? I mostly played tennis as a little kid. I started basketball at 10 for a local junior club called Subiaco. I fell in love with it straight away, and haven’t stopped playing ever since.

How many years have you been playing? Since I was ten, so nine years.

Tell us your thoughts about the season so far… This is my rookie season in the SBL, and my favourite moment so far would be suiting up for the first game against Kalamunda and getting some playing time in that game (I was very nervous). Being coached under Shawn Dennis (even though it was fairly brief) was a great moment. During his time with us I learnt so much and became a better player because of it. I wish him luck in his new role at the Townsville Crocodiles.

Favourite players/inspirational people: Andre Igudala, Dwyane Wade, Magic Johnson and Ricky Rubio.

Favourite moments playing: My two biggest moments are winning the 20s WABL championship in 2012 and making the under 20s state team in 2013. Playing each game for the men’s Hawks SBL team is also a highlight.

3 things you're good at other than basketball: Cooking eggs, table tennis and Call of Duty.

8 of your favourite things you couldn't live without: My phone, car, cat (called Jaz), Xbox, movies, friends & family, Subway and food in general.

If you could hang out with any 5 people in the world, who would they be? Shaquille O'neal, Adam Sandler, Arj Barker, Seth Rogen and Aaron Rodgers.

Favourite quote: It’s better to regret something you have done, than something you haven’t.

Anything else you'd like to add? I'm really looking forward to the playoffs this year and seeing what this team is capable of :)
