Summer Classic - Hawks Wrap
Perry Lakes Stadium has experienced for the last time thousands of feet walking through the door to enjoy the competitive, sometimes chaotic and always hot, Basketball WA Summer Classic. Hawks had twenty teams involved, but overall there were more than 200 teams that competed across three stadiums and over three weekends.
The Hawks fielded strong and very competitive teams in every Championship Division and in most of the Second Divisions, with all participants enjoying the weekend and developing their skills.
With eleven teams making the finals, five progressed to the grand final with four taking out the Summer Classic championship.
The grand finalist winners were:

The weekend provided some really close and entertaining basketball with all teams competing hard and, in the true spirit of the game, forming new friendships and new rivalries.
Congratulations to all the players, to our fantastic coaches and managers, our referees, and our dedicated parents and families for their support and assistance.
Special thanks goes to our volunteers - administrator Erin Hughes and referee coordinator Travis Hayto, and to Referee Supervisors – Travis Stewart, Elliott Ryan and Travis Hayto.
The WABL season commences at the start of May and games are played every Sunday until September. Tryouts for Hawks teams start early February and we hope to see you all there as we look forward to competing in the new WA Basketball Centre.
