Three from Four WABL Championships
Congratulations Hawks Champions! What a day and a great result! We ended up with three championship trophies and for much of the game we thought the fourth was ours too but in the end it was not to be.
The 15 Women started the winning campaign, with Craig Clatworthy’s girls taking out long-term foes Wanneroo in a close game throughout, eventually winning 37-35. Shane & Whitney Perret’s 16 Women played in the same time slot and were well up early, but in a heartbreaking turnaround they finished the game down 8 points, losing to Wanneroo 53-61. Dan Fisher’s Division 1 Men took out the next game, beating Wolves 84-75. And to finish the day, Glenn & Kelly Ellis’ Division 1 Women, led by League MVP Belinda O’Halloran, finished off Lakeside 55-46.
Wolves & Hawks dominated the winners’ circle, with Wolves narrowly taking the most championships record with four. Congratulations to all our teams.
