The Far West Football League hosted the Kinlough Cup on Saturday 8th of July. Played at the magnificently prepared Ceduna Oval and well catered by the Ceduna Sports Club visitors from all over the Eyre Peninsula enjoyed beautiful weather and a great day of football.
Far West faced up against Great Flinders in their first game and after leading by 2 points at half time powered away in the 2nd half to win 32 points. Far West named Kade Chandler, Beau Halbert , Kaya Scott, Patrick Edwards and Cian McCarthy as best players in the match. Goals kickers were Kade Chandler with 3, Patrick Edwards with 2 and singles to Lachlan Marks, Kaya Scott and Thomas Andrassic-Smith.
Facing Lincoln City in their second game with a grand final berth on the line the Far West boys had a close contest for the first half but were eventually overpowered losing by 53 points. Kade Chandler, Kane Dunn, Lachlan Wilkins, Tyler Mahar and Cian McCarthy were named as Far West best players. Jaxon Bennett and Grant Burns were the goal kickers.
The Far West Football League congratulates Kade Chandler who was named the best player on the day for Far West. Kade Chandler and Kane Dunn from Western United were named in the Eyre Peninsula Under 17 side, with Kaya Scott from Blues named as an emergency.
