Ceduna’s Glenn Dunn was presented with an award for being voted Eyre Peninsula’s Auskick Coordinator of the Year at the SANFL’s annual Volunteers Dinner held last Friday night at Adelaide Oval.
Dunn has been the major mover behind the success of the Auskick program in Ceduna and has overseen the growth of participants over the past three years.
Far West Football League President Ron Redford said the award was most justified.
“Glenn Dunn is one of the most outstanding volunteers involved in football and our community is extremely lucky to have him working for the cause of football,” he said.
More than 250 people attended the dinner during which volunteers from across South Australia were presented with certificates that acknowledged their commitment to the game.
SANFL CEO Jake Parkinson emphasised and spoke glowingly about the importance of people and the role they play in supporting and promoting the game.
Event organiser Paul Streatfield was extremely pleased with the function and reinforced the SANFL’s ongoing support for the unsung heroes of the game and looks forward to their continued involvement in 2017.
