The Mortlock shield dinner was a special occasion for the Far West Football League as two of the great servants of our league Milton Chandler and Glenn Dunn were honoured with life membership of the Mortlock Shield.
Milton Chandler is a triple Mail Medalist in Far West and his list of achievements at Mortlock include:
-13 carnivals as a player.
-Eyre Peninsula selection 3 times, twice selected in state country and captain of state country in 1994.
-Played in 3 winning carnivals including Far West’s last cup win in 1990.
He served 2 years as team runner and more recently 4 carnivals as the coach of the Far West side.
Glen Dunn is a life member of the Far West Football League and is currently the league’s junior development officer.
Glen became involved in the Mortlock Shield early 90’s as a delegate for Far West and for many years since has been the A Grade team manager and apart from team manager he taken on the roles of time keeper and goal umpire. He is the general organiser of ensuring Far West is represented each year at the Mortlock Carnival, Glen does a huge amount of work behind the scenes in the lead up and during the carnival each year most of which is unseen but necessary and has been appreciated by players for many years.
The Far West Football League would like to congratulate both Mildy and Glen on their life memberships.
