Big V Pre Season Tournament

Managers' Information

SMS Information:

Urgent Information will be SMS'd to team managers and coaches during the weekend if required.

Your team's successful entry into the Tournament will be e-mailed or SMS'd out shortly after the closing date 20th  Feb 2012.

Please ensure that you supply an e-mail address and select a mobile number in your team where somebody with the team is available for the weekend to pass the information on to the team members.

Grading:


The Big V Administration & tournament committee reserves the right to determine grading of teams.

If teams have not fully disclosed the player’s ranking in the Team Entry Form or have left the disclosure of the player’s ranking far too late for the team to be re-graded, the tournament committee reserves the right to disqualify teams from the Tournament Finals playoffs.

Player & Spectator Entry Fees


Players and Spectators are expected to pay the following fees over the Tournament weekend.

Players, Spectators, and Officials $ 5 per day
Under 12 children FREE


Fixtures Information


Fixture information will be posted on the website by Monday 27th  February at the latest Tuesday 28th February. Call or e-mail Contact us Tuesday night if you have not received information about the Tournament.


Team Score Sheets


Can be collected from the front desk before each game.Team Officials shall leave the score sheet at the front desk if the opposition team has not filled in their players' list. The last team to fill in the score sheet should then take it to the court where the teams are playing.


Disputes Procedure


The following is the recommended procedure that potential disputes will be resolved by teams competing at the Big V Tournament. We have received approval from BV on this procedure.

Handling of disputes will be implemented in two stages;

1. Tournament Administrator – to hear and help with any dispute that may arise.

2. An independent Disputation Committee – to make a decision, within the laws governed by BV.

Any team requesting a resolution to a dispute should;

1. Put the dispute or complaint in writing on the back of the scoresheet within one hour of the game finishing, and submit the complaint via their club administrator, team manager or coach to the Tournament Administrator. Only the Coach & Team Manager named on the team entry form will be recognised as team officials.

2. If questions are needed to be asked of the team, only the Club Administrator, or two team officials (Coach & Team Manager named on the scoresheet) are permitted to represent the team. No discussion will be entered into with players of teams involved.

3. The Tournament Administrator will investigate the dispute, will make a decision based on tournament rules or take it under advisement and seek the Dispute Committee's decision.

4. If this decision is not accepted by the team/s concerned they should put their concerns and reasons in writing on the ‘complaints form’ and ask for it to be reviewed by the Dispute Committee. (Complaints' forms are available from the admin. office.)

5. The Dispute Committee will be made up of three independent senior members of the basketball community.

6. The Dispute Committee’s decision will then be handed down, as soon as practicable, to either the club administrator, team coach or manager – named on the Team Entry Form.

7. Once the Dispute Committee have handed down their decision there will be no further discussion entered into. The decision of the Dispute Committee is final.

8. If sufficiently serious — for example, a reported player — such matters may be referred on to Basketball Victoria for the BV tribunal to review.

The disputing team should ensure all information provided on the disputation form is correct.


On Site Team and Individual Photographer

Teams are expected to get a team photo & head shot photos taken of all their players and officials. A list of times will be published when the fixture is known.

The location for photos will be the creche - ground floor opposite the door entry point.
