The initial training squads to represent WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country in the clash with the VAFA have been released.
Following the highly successful WorkSafe Country Championships, three squads have been chosen to take on the best of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) on Sunday July 7.

Despite losing the No.1 ranking to the Geelong league this year, the Goulburn Valley league has nine players in the initial training squad for the WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country No.1 side which will take on the VAFA Seniors at the Junction Oval.
The Country boys fell six points shy of the VAFA when they last played in 2011 and will be out to win back bragging rights this year.
Experienced interleague campaigners Tim Looby, Paul Newman, Paul Kirby and Jason Morgan will lead the Goulburn Valley contingent, alongside stars from all over country Victoria.
James Linton, who was best-on-ground representing Geelong in the title match, has been selected, set to team up with Ovens and Murray guns Jarrod Thompson and Tyson Hartwig.
Mobile forward Brayden Irving, awarded the Peninsula league’s best player medal in its big win over the Ovens and Murray league, will also be given a chance to win selection in the final squad.
The WorkSafe AFL Victoria Country U19 side will play the curtain raiser to the main match, with the first bounce at 11.15am.
The Vic 2 side also boast experienced representative stars including Adam Sewell from the Central Highlands league and Murray league talent Ryan Bongetti.
They will take on the a team made up of the VAFA’s B to Division 4 players at Harry Trott Oval, Albert Park at 12.30pm.
Training commences for the Vic 1 Team on Sunday 9 June at Princess Park 1 at 11.00am.
Vic 2 and the U19s commence training on Sunday 16 June at Harry Trott Oval at 10.30am.
