The MPNFL have 5 players among the squad of 25 to take the journey to Canberra this week to play in the Landmark Australian Country Football Carnival and represent the Worksafe VCFL Major League Squad.
Players are:-
Adam Hunter, Dromana - Nick Scanlon, Narre Warren - Luke Walker and Jared Goldsack, Pakenham and Justin Berry from Cranbourne.
Coach Peter Knights said anticipation is building ahead of the premier carnival for country footballers in the nation, “We are under no illusions about the toughness of the competition we are about to embark on, but we are confident with the process for selection and the ability of these guys to come together on the big stage.”
“All of these guys are jumping out of their skins to play representative footy for their state and to wear the Big V as we head to Canberra next week for the Landmark Australian Country Football Carnival.”
Glenn Scott, CEO of the WorkSafe Victorian Country Football League said that selection at this level was a terrific achievement, “It is a great feather in the caps of these 25 players selected. For many of these guys it will be the highest honour they will wear as a footballer, for others it may just be the launching pad to greater heights in their career.”
