"Shorty" Walker is one of the most selfless players I've seen. His tackling is inspirational and he's a good clearance man. He doesn't talk himself up but his record is one of the best at Seaford. Two premierships and 200 senior games. People are quick to say he doesn't have great skill but he has a straight kick, safe hands and reads the ball as well as anyone. He also senses when the team needs a lift and uses his courage to inspire others. More importantly, however, he adapts to all situations. When his time seemed up as a backman he went forward and became an invaluable pressure man, who kicked a few. When forward line spots became scarce he went back into the midfield. Now he's a utility - a fellow for the tough jobs. He's always been generous with his time, mentoring younger players. Some of his current teammates remember him helping coach their Under 9 team a few years back, probably when he had dreadlocks and a youthful swagger. Off the field he has endured setbacks and challenges, like us all. His determination to bounce back has always impressed me. I'm very proud of his achievements in football and work. Seaford Football Club has been good to him. But the Short Man has more than squared the ledger. And we are all thankful. Congratulations mate. P.K.
From everyone past and present congratulations, Jeremy on your achievement of 200 senior games.
