We wish to advise all clubs and stakeholders that the decision has been made to make the position
of MPNFL CEO redundant, effective immediately. This decision was not taken lightly; however
given the current limitations in the league’s cash position and forecasting that indicates significant
losses ahead, the AFL South East Commission has been left with no option other than to act
decisively.
Whilst it has always been a preference of the Commission to maintain the administrative structure
during this caretaker period, this action has been deemed necessary in order to ensure the league
is not impacted negatively by the current investment in resources. We will work hard ensure all
responsibilities of the administration will be maintained and met without any additional financial
impost on the league or clubs.
The Commission continues to work with the league’s auditing and bookkeeping consultants to
address some historical matters and once resolved, a clear picture of the current financial position
and future plan will be presented to clubs.
Jeff Jones had been in the role of CEO for just over three years and we would like to thank him
for his commitment to the league; first as an accomplished umpire and committee member with
the SUA and following on from that the league CEO.
If anyone has any questions or queries regarding these matters, please do not hesitate to contact
myself at the MPNFL office.
Regards,
Jeremy Bourke
