There comes a time in everybody’s life when someone they know and love is diagnosed with cancer. The young boy you are about to hear about is the first to offer a helping hand and give anything to assist others. But now it’s his turn.
For those of you who don’t know Jake Rolls he is a 21 year old boy born and bred on the Mornington Peninsula and played football at South Mornington Football Club and studied at Mornington Padua College.
He is one of five children, and lives with his father, a single parent.
Jake overcame Melanoma cancer in 2010, after a suspicious mole was removed from his neck. With multiple operations and a month of radiotherapy he was given the all clear to get on with his awaiting life.
In March 2011 Jake found himself in emergency with server pain to his stomach. The next day the frighten results came in: cancer was present in his liver, lungs and spine, as well as finding a tumour on the brain.
Jake’s got the fighting spirit, he has the support from family & friends, but here’s where Jake and his family need you.
We are hosting a Fundraiser/Auction night. This event is aimed to raise precocious funds for Jake’s ongoing & lengthy treatment and medication bills. Jake’s determined to do whatever it takes and explore every option available to beat this intruding disease and the funds raised at this event will allow him to do so.
This event will be attended by members of the local papers, who will be publishing articles and photos from the night.
