ConnectEast has teamed up with Hanover Welfare
Services and we’re closing the entire EastLink motorway to make way for
cyclists and a unique cycle event fundraiser: the Hanover ConnectEast Ride
for Home on EastLink, Sunday 14 November 2010.
There will be two main cycle rides involving round
trips on EastLink:
· 74.3km Challenge Ride, professionally timed, for experienced individuals and teams of up to
ten;
· 35.3km Recreational
Ride for recreational cyclists.
Both rides will start and end on the Ringwood Bypass,
and will include trips through both EastLink tunnels. Southbound cyclists will
use the southbound carriageway, and northbound cyclists will use the northbound
carriageway. Participant numbers will be limited and the event will be
professionally managed to ensure an outstanding and safe experience.
With Hanover providing much-needed services in
Melbourne to families and individuals experiencing homelessness, it’s all in a
great cause.
We’re keen to spread the word to
cycling enthusiasts across Melbourne and we would greatly appreciate it if you
could let your friends and colleagues know about it.
You can register for the event at
