there were great scenes of excitement. Best on ground honours went to Mikaela Greer, Ellie Blackburn, Maddison

Chalkley 2, Courtney winch-rigaldi 2
Throughout the year they played against schools from lydhurst, mentone,
frankston, box hill and defeated Wonthaggi in the state semi final 57-0, who
were the reigning state champions. With only eight yr 12 students leaving at
the end of the year the girls are keen to go for back to back titles next year.
In the first year of the Girls Academy they have also established
a auskick program run by girls and delivered to grade 4 girls at Maramba PS
over a duration of 10 weeks as part of their assessment. Next week the Academy
will be off to Canberra for 4 days, where they will stay at the Australian
Institute of Sport and undertake sessions on strength & conditioning,
nutrition, and recovery methods. They will also be conducting AFL Clinics at
some local primary schools and playing the ACT/NSW U18 team in a game in
preparation for the National U18 Championships.
