Coach the Coach’s is the theme of the night which will see Dean Bailey, Josh Mahoney, Sean Wellman, Mark Williams and Kelly O'Donnell talk and walk you through a typical AFL training session.
Get a real insight and first hand look on how AFL clubs train and why they train that way, which is a fantastic opportunity for all Community Coaches.
The night itself will Coach about the training processes and principles used at the club and the make up of the session the players are running through that night...Then, after training finishes the rest of the Melbourne FC Coaching panel will join us upstairs where Dean Bailey, Head Coach of the Melbourne FC, will address the group.
The last part of the night will see small breakout sessions (Kicking, Forwards, Defense and Stoppages) where local Coaches will have the opportunity to talk and interact with each of the assistant coaches…

Dean Bailey was appointed senior coach of the Melbourne Football Club in September 2007. Bailey, aged 40, started his football career as a player with Essendon, where he played 53 games between 1987 and 1992. He then played an additional 60 games with Glenelg in the SANFL. Bailey started his coaching career at Mount Gravatt in Queensland, where he spent two years as senior coach before accepting the position of development coach at Essendon between 1999 and 2001. Bailey then moved to Port Adelaide as assistant coach at the start of the 2002 season. He spent six years at Port Adelaide during a time in which the club played in five final series, including a premiership and two preliminary finals.
