Attraction is a natural part of almost everyone’s sexuality. The majority of people are attracted only or mostly to the opposite sex. This is called being heterosexual or straight. Some people are attracted only or mostly to the same sex and identify as being gay or lesbian. Others are attracted equally to both males and females and most often will identify as bisexual, or pansexual. A smaller number of people experience very little attraction and are asexual. All of these attractions are natural and normal in people all over the world.
Most people are comfortable with the gender that they were given at birth (male or female). However, some people do not feel that the gender given to them at birth matches their real or experienced gender. These people often identify as transgender or gender diverse.
Some people are born intersex. Intersex is a general term used for a variety of conditions in which a person is born with reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn't seem to fit the typical definitions of female or male.
Most importantly remember that being straight, same sex attracted, intersex, transgender or gender diverse is natural and normal.
