TRIBUNAL
TRIBUNAL REPORTING PROCEDURE
1.
The reporting umpire completes the Notice of Report sheet as supplied by the League to the Clubs. All Clubs must supply the Umpires a Notice of Report Book for their use before play starts for the day.
2.
After each game both
Club Secretary’s
shall check with the Umpires to see if there are any reports. If there are reports, the League Secretary (Pauline Tantau 0413 452450) must be notified as soon as possible.
The Reporting Umpire hands one copy of the report to the reported players Club official, one copy to the opposing Clubs official (if involved), keeps one copy for himself and forwards the original copy to the League Secretary by 6pm Sunday to ensure the Tribunal Secretary has it on the night of the Tribunal.
3.
Umpires shall report and charge any player in accordance with normal procedures for offences listed in the Rules of the AFL Vic Handbook, but the report shall not be heard by a Tribunal unless so requested by either the Umpire who lodges the report, the reported player, the player allegedly offended against or the President/Secretary of either club.
4.
If the penalty is accepted, the League Secretary will notify the Umpires and any other parties involved. The player has until 7pm after the report to decide if he will take the case to the Tribunal.
5.
If the player accepts the Prescribed Penalty, the player and club Secretary will need to sign the bottom of the report sheet to acknowledge acceptance of the penalty and forward to the League Secretary by the Wednesday following the match.
6.
If the penalty is not excepted and the player wishes to defend the charge, a Tribunal hearing will be held on the Monday following the report and all parties involved will be notified of the time.
7.
If a Club wishes to use a Video at a Tribunal, it must be in the hands of the Tribunal Secretary or League Secretary no later than 7pm after the game.
