Kyabram teenager Zac Norris is a young man on a mission, knowing that if he can play well he could just be part of something very special come September.
Norris, 18, made his debut last weekend in arguably one of the biggest home and away matches, with the coaching staff giving him the nod while Jake Reeves is sidelined with injury.
He knows that he can’t take his place in the team for granted, knowing the quality of Reeves and others knocking the door down such as Chris Atkins and Nathan Beck to name a couple.
The ruckman says he won’t rest on his laurels of being given a chance to play in the star-studded Bombers’ line-up.
“I probably need to work on being a bit more physical and improve my decision making under pressure,” he said.
After reflecting on his first senior game with his father last Sunday, he couldn’t help but feel that this could be special year for the Bombers.
“The football teams are all going well and looking like they will all play finals while the netball teams are going well as well,” he said.
After starting the game on the interchange, Norris was thrust into the action very early in the contest following the foot injury to gun utility Jason Morgan.
“Morgs got injured and as a result I got the majority of game time,” he said.
“Josh Vick was really good out on the ground and helped me out on the ground, just in the areas that I could improve.
For now the Bendigo Pioneer listed player is happy to sponge and learn from some of the club’s stars.
