THOMSON has caused one of the upsets of the GDFL season in handing North Geelong its first loss of 2015.
The Tigers led at every change at Godfrey Street, but just three points separated the two teams at the last change.
However, the home team never faltered as they kicked 4.4 to 2.3 in the final quarter for a famous 15.13 (103) to 13.9 (87) victory.
Former Queenscliff star Jayden Durran finished with four goals for Thomson, while inspirational leader Jackson Macleod kicked three.
Brandon Gardiner impressed all afternoon and co-coach Reece Holwell was a constant presence around the ball.
Jamie Pitman managed five major for the Magpies. James Chandler and P.J DiSanto contributed two apiece.
Thomson’s third win of the season surpassing the two victories it registered in 2014.
Bannockburn bounced back from its disappointing performance against North Geelong with a comprehensive 113-point smashing of Werribee Centrals at Victoria Park.

Trent McLure finished with three goals for the Blues. Kane Bonner was their best.
Bell Post Hill had 15 different goalkickers in its 182-point belting of Anakie at Anakie Reserve.
The Panthers opened up a 58-point lead at quarter time and never looked back as it posted a 35.18 (228) to 7.4 (46) win.

Former Corio coach Barry O’Toole made his first senior appearance for Inverleigh as it ran all over the top of the Devils for a 172-point win at Shell Oval.
O’Toole who resigned in late April, kicked two goals as the Hawks claimed a percentage-boosting 35.18 (228) to 9.2 (56) victory.
Dalton Grundell and Casey Meehan both finished with seven goals for the winners, while Ryan Garrard was also impressive with six.
Matt Seed kicked four goals and was best on ground.
Dylan Smith was Corio’s best forward with four goals, while Dylan Shelly kicked two goals in another solid performance.
On Friday night, East Geelong made it consecutive wins with a 12-point victory over Geelong West.
Ricky and B.J O’Toole both kicked three goals in the Eagles 14.9 (93) to 12.9 (81) victory.
Kelvin Thomson again produced up forward for the Cheetahs with four goals. Luke Malcom was effective with three majors.
