Bannockburn were in the hunt for that elusive finals spot at the end of the 2013 season but saw the card fall the other way for them. On reflection 2nd year coach Craig McGough and his team saw it as an experience factor.
To this end the return of previous league leading goal kicker Tom Mullane-Grant to the club is a tremendous boost to the Tigers forward structure. Also the pending clearance of Jamie van Ingen back to the club along with the return of a number of previous players builds that experience for McGough. A loss will be young gun Matt Tyquin who has decided to roll the dice at GFL level.
“Our recruiting has been specific and our pre-season to date has been very positive with good numbers on the track and our young developing group working hard and improving with each week” said McGough. “Pre-season has been about getting some physical development into the younger players”
McGough expects the first 6 weeks will be challenging and the club will know where they are at in the context of the season.
