Sportsbet, which has been running premiership markets on local football for the past two years has set the market for the start of the 2010 GDFL premiership race
Sportsbet's Wayne Bent said "the betting in the GDFL was "wide open".
"The GDFL is certainly the widest market," Bent said. "It was the hardest local league we found to price. Last year's premiers East Geelong we have at second pick at $5, so it is wide open. The side that we think should improve out of sight is Inverleigh. They could be 7-0 as they have a really good draw and have recruited well.
"Werribee Centrals have also recruited very well and are hard to beat at home, but we were happy to take on Thomson at $8."
The opening market is Bell Post Hill $4.50; East Geelong $5; Inverleigh $5; Werribee Centrals $5.50; Bannockburn $8; Thomson $8; North Geelong $12; Corio $12; Winchelsea $14; Anakie $34; Geelong West Sports Club $51; Belmont Lions $101.Welcome to the Geelong & District Football League website
