Game Timing

Game start – The game is to be started at the scheduled time for commencement of the game provided the referee is ready to commence.

Delay to the start of the game – Teams must have four (4) players present and ready to commence the game when centres are called. The clock will start and the team that does not have four (4) players within 5 minutes will forfeit the match. The match score will be 0-20. Players not on that team are not permitted to play to make up 5 players; teams with 4 players must play the game with 4 players.

Late Start – For each minute the game is delayed by a team the opposing teams score is to be increased by two (2) points.

Should both teams fail to have four (4) players present and ready within 5 minutes of ‘centres’ being called the match will be declared a draw. The match results will be 0-0. Players can then decide if they wish to play a scratch match, with other players from levels below whom are eligible to play.

All round games during the regular season shall consist of two 20 minute periods, clock runs on all time outs, two per half per team, not to be taken in the last minute of either half. These timing rules are subject to the heat policy as set out by BVC.

Semi and Elimination Finals – All Junior games shall be two (2) x twenty (20) minute halves, with NO TIME OUTS allowed in the last minute of the first half. The clock WILL NOT STOP for any time outs throughout the game. The clock WILL STOP for every whistle in the last one (1) minute of the second half.

Grand Finals – The clock WILL STOP for all time outs throughout the game and on every whistle blow during the last one (1) minute of the first half and last three (3) minutes of the second half.
