RESULTS OF THE OCEANIA CONTINENTAL QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT
held at Rathkeale College, Masterton, 2 January 2012.
There were 2 men’s places and 2 women’s places to be won for the Olympic Games London, 2012.
Countries competing were Australia, Samoa, Fiji and Tonga. New Zealand did not compete because even if they had won a place they would not meet the NZOC selection criteria and thus could not go to London. Rather than win a place and then have to “give it back”, New Zealand decided it was more fair to other countries to not compete at all.
In the morning all the archers shot the Qualification round, 72 arrows at 70m shooting into the “large” 122cm diameter target face. see more......

World Archery announces 2011 Development Grants
FITA development partner’s annual equipment grants have been announced for 2011 and Papua New Guinea were successful.
PNG Archery Association worked hard to prepare a detailed four year development plan that involved growing the sport across the country and presented this with their application. This strategic objective required the planning of activities to raise funds for archery equipment and training courses for their archers.
The President of PNG Archery Association was delighted to be informed by FITA of their successful application for an equipment grant.
Member Associations can contact Oceania Archery Confederation for assistance in preparing their 2012 applications.
