Members of the Executive Board and staff of the Tonga Sports Association and National Olympic Committee (TASANOC) joined more than 700 students from primary and secondary school as well as teachers and parents at “Lea-‘ae-Tohi” playground at Pangai, Ha’apai last Thursday (21st June) to celebrate the Olympic Day.

The most successful Technical Director and Coach in weightlifting in the Oceania region and also Secretary General of the Oceania Weightlifting Federation, Mr Paul Coffa was in Tonga this week to meet with the 2019 Pacific Games Organizing Committee (OC) and Tonga Weightlifting Federation as well as to look at the potential venue and facility for the weightlifting event for the 2019 Pacific Games

Mr Michael Bloomfield (one of its Vice Presidents) to lead Team Tonga as Chef de Mission for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro next year.

The Executive Committee of the Tonga Pacific Games Association (a.k.a TASANOC) has appointed Mr Viliami Takau of Kolofo’ou as its Chef de Mission for the upcoming XV Pacific Games to be held in Port Moresby in July.

The Pacific Games Council (PGC) has confirmed that the Executive Board will meet in Nuku’alofa on the second week of February 2015.

The members of the Team Tonga Swimming for the Commonwealth Games arrived to Glasgow yesterday. The team is made up of James Panuve, Manager; Sarah Prescott, Official; Andy Scott, Coach; ‘Ifalemi Paea; Tongi Li Panuve; Maria Zarka; and Irene Prescott.
