On the 4th of August John Howard ran a time of 11.05 seconds to place 5th in the preliminaries finials in the men’s 100 metres sprint at the Olympic Stadium.

Wendolin places 8th in 100m athletics heat
Mihter Wendolin competed in the Women’s 100m Athletics on Friday 3rd August. She placed 8th in the fourth heat at the Olympic Stadium.

Daniel does not make it through to Women's 50m freestyle semis.
21 year old Debra Daniel from FSM finished first in Heat 2 of the 50m Women’s Freestyle. Her time of 30.32 seconds was not fast enough to bring her through into the Semifinals.

Hadley from FSM wins heat but does not progress to finals
Although coming first in Heat 3 of the Men’s 50m Freestyle, FSM’s Kerson Hadley did not qualify for the Semi-Finals for this event.

FSM's Minginfel achieves 8th overall in weightlifting
Monday 30 July, FSM athlete Manuel Minginfel competed in the Men’s 62kg Weightlifting placing 8th overall out of 14 competitors.

Oceania's latest Olympians take to the track.
The eyes of the Pacific Islands were drawn to the Olympic Stadium as 9 Oceania athletes took to the track for the men’s 100m preliminary rounds. Athletes from Tonga, Palau, Tuvalu, The Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, American Samoa, The Solomon Islands, Kiribati and The Cook Islands all took part in the 4 heats...

Youth Educators Promoting Olympic Values (YEPOV) Seminar goes to Chuuk State

November 29/30 - The third FSM YEPOV seminar was held in Chuuk State.  Instructor Lestly Ashby held a two-day workshop with secondary school students (15-18 years old).  The first two seminars took place in Pohnpei last January and in Yap last April.

2010 FSM Green Steps 5K Run

November 27 - The 3rd Annual Green Steps 5K Run was held in Pohnpei.  Participants collected rubbish along the roadside through Kolonia Town and planted trees at the Pohnpei Administration Building and Daini Baseball Field.  Proceeds went to support T.J. Rush, Pohnpei youth tennis  player attending the Oceania Tennis Academy in Nadi, Fiji, who will be competing in the upcoming Oceania Junior Tennis Tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.
