Good commitment today against one of the best teams in competition. We have improved although the score did not reflect that. Remember that structure is there for a reason so we need to understand that.

Another great day at the office! The girls stayed well composed from the very start and focused on their game strategies. There was not much in it during the first two quarters with only a few points the difference. Our defense line was hard to penetrate for most of the game and there was hunger within the team to take possession of the ball.

In the third quarter the girls got a bit lazy and allowed the Cougars to take over the lead but soon pulled together in the last and put 19 quick points on the board to take the win.

This was an intense and tough game at the beginning with a point in it at half time the lead changed many times, but the girls played great defense to win the game by 7 points well done girls.

After a close game last week we needed to start postitive and remain focused for the whole game. The boys played good on ball pressure and defense not allowing the Cougars to score easily or play their game plan. We did a great job in the first half only allowing 18pts but as with many games allowed 29pts for the second half. It was a good effort by all boys and look forward to the Eagles this week.

Leading Scorers -
George Tregear 27pts

For the most part a good game. We got out and ran the ball very well, we defended well for the first half and whilst we defended well in the second half it wasn’t as good as the first half. Whilst our rebound count was better this week it still wasn’t great and we will again be spending a lot of time on it again this week.

This week we went up against the top side who were coming off their first loss the week prior and for us it was about winning back some respect as the Cougars embarrassed us at home a couple of weeks before the break.

Offensively we never really got clicking but were always in the hunt despite trailing for the majority of the game. The area which hurt us was defensive breakdowns and players missing assignments that we scouted prior to the game. This was dissapointing knowing our preperation was built around stopping different aspects of the Cougars play and we quite simply didnt execute in those key areas.

Right now to get that top two finish in the South we need to claim a big scalp on the way home and this week against the Eagles will be another massive game as we start moving towards the playoffs.
