Good to get win first up. Good creation and transition. Untidy hands in defence, hence high foul count (26 fouls all up). Work is required on our transition defence. All in all a good team effort.

The Flames dominated the first quarter with good team work and control of the ball going into the first break with a 9 point lead. The Redbacks fought back in the second quarter to bring the margin to 2 points. Lack of focus and intensity in the 3rd quarter from the Flames allowed the Redbacks to take control and found themselves going into the last quarter 4 points down. In the last quarter the girls pulled together and played some exceptional basketball. The lead changed several times and the Flames were unlucky with some of their shots not going in. A gutsy effort and good comeback in the end by the girls.

Coach Sammy not happy as the boys didnt listen to instructions. On a brighter note good efforts were given by Chris Tudor, Justin Beard and Jeremy Fletcher.

Very good all round effort. Played some really good defence and executed our offence very well. We controlled the tempo of the game and played well right to the end.

The boys began this game in slow motion and took well into the second quarter to get moving. Once our defence kicked into gear we blew the game apart in the second term with numerous steals and fastbreak scores. We faced a zone defence for the entire first half which we didnt execute very well against and missed upwards of 15 lay-ups during the game which simply isnt good enough. At half time we had a goal of winning this game by 55pts which didnt eventuate and let the visitors have 44pts which is 10 more than we consider acceptable against any opposition in the league. With a bye next round it will be a very tough practise session this Wednesday.

A new team brings teething problems and this is exactly what the first half was full of. Going into the main break down by 15 points we switched up to the zone to slow down the visitors and soared back into the game with some smart transition baskets to keep the scoreboard ticking over. In the last the Redbacks had a run but we withstood them by iceing some foulshots to seal the win.
