2015 Smarter than Smoking BWA State Championships
In 2015, Basketball WA will be once again hosting the Smarter than Smoking BWA State Championships.
The State Championships will held across three weekends commencing on Saturday 28 November 2015, at the Bendat Basketball Centre. This year’s tournament will host over 350 teams and 3,000 players from 20 metropolitan and country associations from around the state of Western Australia. Basketball WA are highly encouraged and excited by the numbers of players choosing Basketball as their sport of choice in recent years, reflected by the numbers in this year’s tournament.
Key Changes:
Basketball WA is continually taking on board feedback expressed by players, spectators and coaches regarding its competitions. Feedback in recent years regarding the State Championships has been directed at excessive time spent waiting in entry lines and the prices of spectator admission. Basketball WA has also identified these issues and therefore in 2015, the following fee structure will be implemented.
Players: one off $25 entry fee (covers whole weekend)
Spectators: FREE
Coaches and Managers: FREE
The effect of these changes are a net decrease of entry fees based on recent fee models. Basketball WA strongly believe that basketball is a family sport and through the new fee structure, friends, parents, grandparents, siblings and extended family can all be a part of this year’s tournament, free of charge. Basketball WA anticipate:
- Reduction of Saturday entry lines
- No Sunday entry lines
- Increase in spectator attendance
- Convenience entering and exiting venues
Both cash and card payment facilities are available at the Bendat Basketball Centre.
Player Registrations:
All players are required to register prior to the weekend commencing, using their team codes which are distributed by participating associations. This is to ensure all players appear on Stadium Scoring devices and an accurate record of all players can be kept. Simply click on the Player Registration Form on the right hand side of this page. Failure to register may result in forfeit of games.
Fixtures will be released below as they are made available. All fixtures are subject to change.
