Pair to miss important clash with AdelaideAFL clubs are cracking down on player tardiness with Indigenous players Eddie Betts and Jefferey Garlett tonight two of three Carlton players stood down from their finals-bound team's important clash with Adelaide this weekend.
Betts and Garlett will be joined on the sidelines by key-position player Cameron Cloke after turning up late to a compulsory recovery session on Sunday morning, a day after the Blues' match against Melbourne at the MCG.
Saturday's match at Etihad Stadium with Adelaide will decide whether or not the Blues get a home final next weekend. It will be Carlton's first finals series in eight years.
Carlton football manager Steven Icke in a statement expressed the club's was disappointed with the trio.
"This is very disappointing for all concerned, particularly as we play such an important game against Adelaide on Saturday, the final game before we embark on our finals campaign," Icke said.
"While all three players have apologised for their tardy behaviour this decision ensures that everyone understands the disciplines that are required when you are part of the Carlton Football Club."
