Perth captain to play his 100thBY any measure in football, Troy Cook (pictured) is a hard nut. When you watch him play, note the tackles that stay, the bumps that sting, the shepherds that stun. And durable.
Tomorrow, the Yamaji man from Carnarvon in WA plays his 100th WAFL match.
Cook's milestone, which will come at his club's Perth's home ground against Peel Thunder, has been 15 years in the making, interrupted by a 149-game AFL career with Sydney (43 from 1997 to 1999) and Fremantle (126 from 2000 to 2007).
The Dockers' 2000 fairest-and-best returned to his original WAFL club Perth full-time after Fremantle refused to offer him a contract extension at the end of the 2007 AFL season.
Cook, 33, who holds the Dockers' record for most games in succession, 88, is the Demons' captain.
On a side note, should Cook handball the Burley two more times tomorrow, he will do so for the 600th time in the WAFL, and if he kicks the ball eight times, he will have done that 600 times also in the WAFL.
